Jean Roberts speaks at “It’s Only a Model: And now for Something Completely Different”

Jean Roberts, Business Development Director at Printondemand-worldwide, was one of three speakers to take part in the final digital seminar to be sponsored by Reed Exhibitions at this year’s London Book Fair, in the Cromwell Room of Earl’s Court on the afternoon of 17th April.  She shared the platform with Jo Henry, managing Director of Bowker, and Andy Alferovs, President of Kortext.

Jean took the opportunity to explain how over the past few years Printondemand-worldwide has changed from a typical digital book printer to becoming a continually evolving print and electronic supply and distribution company, and how we have shaped our business modeals and strategy accordingly.  She explained that, by investing simultaneously in technology and innovation, we have developed E-Vault, our complete, online e-Book management service, to take care of all publishers’ distribution, administration, analytics and billing needs.  So that our client publishers can understand both their successes and where their performance is falling short of the competitors’, E-Vault now provides enhanced sales and analytics and dashboard reports as standard.

Jean went on to say that our conscious decision to become more than a printer and distributor means partnering properly with publishers.  This is not just an idle statement: we set out to understand our clients’ needs and act upon them, instead of being merely a one-size fits all solution provider.  We believe in long-term planning, and therefore try to help our clients to understand the impact of working with us over time, especially when they are making important decisions about the best deal for them across the whole spectrum of the supply chain.

Jean concluded by offering a little more details about our philosphy and how it has shaped our suite of services.  She said that we believe that going to the source of information should be key to every publisher’s strategy.  We can help publishers to understand each element of cost, to solve those crucial speed of supply issues that drive sales, and enable the fulfilment of a seamless print and e-Book offer.  Above all, we can offer a global reach combined with flexibility.

Jean’s presentation was well received and helped to generate an interesting debate at the end of the seminar!

The panel prepare to get underway!
